The Alamianian Peacock is an artifact from Alamainia first introduced in Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. The name is a pun for the NBC logo colors and Peacock streaming service.
Storyline[]
The statue was gift from the Von Leuschner family to the Alamains to celebrate the marriage of Lawrence Alamain and Carly Manning (her dowry), but the then marriage never happened and it was never returned. It placed in the Alamainia National Museum until it was stolen in 1991 by Hope Williams Brady who was brainwashed by Stefano DiMera into believing she was Gina Von Amberg. It contained six gemstones; a citrine, a rare orange gem, a ruby, an amethyst, a sapphire, and an emerald. “Gina” fenced the jewels.
In 2022, the peacock was recovered and Lord Sebastian Alamain tasked the International Security Alliance (ISA) to recover the jewels that were located in several parts of the globe. John Black and Marlena Evans offer to help solve the case and other agent, Kyle Graham, went to follow his on lead on a gem.
The amethyst made its way to New Orleans in an antique shop where Billie Reed, disguised as Gina, attempted to buy it only to lose it to Miles and Sophie Faversham. Kyle meets up with her, Ben Weston and Ciara Brady, who help retrieve it from a swinger's party and they gave it to Shane Donovan (Drew). Later, the two discovered the real Shane appeared and revealed that his twin brother Drew Donovan was the one behind the scheme.
The sapphire became a necklace and John Black and Marlene attempted to retrieve it at an auction where Tony and Anna DiMera attended on Austin Reed's behalf to get the necklace for his wife Carrie. Also there, was an agent of Kristen DiMera (presumably on behalf of Drew) there too but was removed from the auction after he was found out. Anna won the bid after stealing John and Marlena paddle number. Later, Kirsten steals the gem in disguise as Mary Moira Banks asking for donations from Anna. Austin is also framed for the theft to distract the others from Drew's plot. It was later retrieved in Johannesburg by Billie and Kyle after a standoff and chase with Kirsten who dropped it.
The orange gem was once owned by Michelle White, whose husband is plastic surgeon Dr. Ronald White, as a ring who gave it to Paulina Price Carver without knowing it was stolen. Two mercenaries (presumably hired by Drew) tried to take from her and Abe Carver at gunpoint but Lani and Eli Grantsave them and the gem is sent to Drew.
The emerald made its way to a drag queen named Cori Blake. Leo Stark knew of it and attempted to con Will Horton, who was doing a story about the peacock, Sonny Kiriakisand Chad DiMera into getting it and then taking for himself. After the trio got by entering and winning a drag show, Leo attempts to make a getaway but is stopped by Drew, posing as Shane and is forced to give it to him.
The citrine made its way to Drew who wanted the jewels for his own purposes as well as revealing his accomplice was Kyle, revealed to be Dimitri Von Leuschner in order to get the artifact back into his family's hands. Dimitri applied to the ISA as "Kyle Graham" to work his way up the ranks to infiltrate ISA and Alamain security. Later, Drew is revealed to have retrieved the ruby by killing an ISA agent in the process.
After the scheme is revealed, Drew and Dimitri reveal the peacock was reworked as a detonation device with the diamonds acting as power sources for satellite lasers that he intended to use on various targets to extort money from world leaders. He planned to test the device on the cities where most John and Marlena's friends and family were; Zurich, New Orleans, Phoenix, Johannesburg, Miami, and Salem. However, the final laser was not activated due to Leo swapping the real emerald with a fake gem. The real gem was soon recovered by the Chad, Will, and Sonny before Leo leaves after realizing he stole Chad's watch. Austin is also cleared of the theft charges.
The two are arrested and sent to an ISA prison and device is disabled before being taken back to the museum.
