Mia and Chad meet in high school and they slept together and Mia got pregnant and Dr.Baker confirmed It and a pregnant Mia got scared of Chad because he was a total jerk and was stuck up prep attitude and Mia didn't tell Chad about her pregnancy and hide it from him.
Mia and Will Horton started bond as new found friends and got along throughout her pregnancy and agree to help her out with her pregnancy which made Chad upset seeing Mia with Will.
Chad and Will had a couple of fights over Mia but then left both to have her baby and she decided to give her baby girl up for adoption when she went to stay at the church group home where she meets grieving mother Nicole walker and Nicole offers to take her baby girl and Mia agreed to the adoption hoping her baby girl will have a chance.at normal life with Nicole a wealthy women who lost her baby girl Sydney DiMera. Sr. to a miscarriage in November 24,2008.
Nicole Helped Mia Delivered her baby girl completely natural and Mia thanks Nicole for helping deliver her baby girl and give up to Nicole for her to raises as her own with husband EJ DiMera .
Nicole meets with Chloe Lane and has a baby girl with her and Chloe told Nicole Sami was pregnant and had a baby girl too which sparked Nicole to switch.the babies.with Dr.Baker.help she stole EJ DiMera and Sami DiMera newborn daughter Sydney DiMera and Dr.Baker gave Sami Chad and Mia's daughter.Nicole faked giving birth to EJ.daughter that day so she can stay.with him as a family.

Grace gets sick and Sami freaks out crying and rushes Grace to the hospital where Dr. Daniel Jonas gives Sami bad news that Grace is terminally ill from bacterial meningitis and Mia show with Will shows up at the hospital and Sami and Rafe spend their final moments with Grace as she dies in Sami arms and everyone starts crying even EJ and Nicole afterwards Sami confronts EJ that she was.pregnant and had their daughter "Grace" and.EJ.is upset but then grieves for "his little girl".
Mia went with Will goes to her daughter.Grace memorial and everyone mourns the lose of Mia and Chad's daughter Grace who thought to have been EJ and Sami daughter at the time.later Nicole cried over Grace grave saying how sorry she was for abandoning her.
Chad came to town to get back with Mia and later finds out he has a daughter with Mia and Mia gave up her for adoption and Chad was very upset and confused .
Chad wanted to find his daughter and file for custody of his daughter and Mia and Will worked together to make sure he didn't find her .
Carly Manning was in town and came across Chloe and Chloe who was keeping something and brought it to Rafe attention that Chloe and Nicole are hiding something about a baby .
Nicole grows worried of Chad wanting to find his daughter she enlisted Stefano DiMera in on her baby switch scheme to help get Chad off her back and still have EJ and Sydney.
Rafe Hernandez started to investigate the baby switch case and kept it from Sami for months and then discovered Grace autopsy results and medical history didn't add up and started to believe Carly theories but Rafe started to tried get DNA from Sydney DiMera it very tough getting around EJ and Nicole.
Rafe and help Carly help finds out Sydney is Sami's daughter with EJ and is heartbroken for Grace parents he didn't know be Mia and Chad.
EJ returns.home to find a recording of Nicole talking to Brady Black about how she needed him and how he was there for her when she had miscarriage which shocked EJ and EJ starts getting very upset when Nicole arrives home with Sydney medicine he starts asking her about the night "she.gave birth" and she kept on playing it off until EJ brings out a pregnancy stomach pad and starts.asking Nicole if she was faking the pregnancy which admitted it but then played off as joke and EJ knew right there she was lying and.finally admitted that she micarried their daughter Sydney DiMera Sr. leaving EJ heartbroken thinking he lost two daughters now and actually agree to give Chad "his daughter back"and EJ throws Nicole and Sydney out of the house.
EJ father had a heart attack and the hospital and Nicole shows up to support EJ which is angry at Nicole but then Sami's shows up with Sydney he.want nothing to with her .
Chad finds out Sydney is " his daughter" and wants to take her but Mia and Will stops him.
EJ and Sami's go to Grace gave to mourn her together and talk about how she was like and there past regrets and Sami finds out Nicole had a.miscarriage with their daughter Sydney DiMera Sr. Which Sami was shocked and wonder how she ended up with a baby girl in the first place and EJ told.her she adopted the baby girl from a teenage mother and Sami put it together Mia and Chad daughter.
Carly arrives at the cafe where Chad , Mia and Will and even Maggie Horton Kiriakis were at to tell them the news about Mia baby girl was actually Grace Brady-DiMera who died from bacterial meningitis back in June 9,2009 earlier that year which Mia was heartbroken and shocked that her daughter died at the hands of Nicole and Mia thought she trusted Nicole with her daughter life and shocked to learn Nicole switched her daughter Grace with Chad for Sami and EJ Daughter Sydney DiMera Jr. and Maggie comforts Mia in her arms.
Sami and EJ found about the switch and reunited with their daughter Sydney DiMera Jr. In November of 2009.
Will is overjoy to have his sister back but felt sorry for Mia losing her daughter Grace and the two mourn her death.
Chad and Mia finally grieve the lose of their daughter and decided to give each other a another chance at a relationship while healing from their lose of their daughter Grace.
Mia had a love triangle with Will and Chad after the baby switch and Mia broke up with Will and stay with Chad but that didn't work and she moved to New York start a fresh new life there while Chad remained in Salem,Illinois with his newly discovered brother EJ and created a bond with DiMera's and a new friendship with Will Horton even Will named his daughter's Arianna Horton middle name is Grace In honour of their late daughter Grace.
