Douglas "Dougie" LeClair is a character from the soap opera Days of Our Lives, portrayed by John Russon (1976-77) and Mikey Martin (1979-80).

Storylines

Dougie was conceived through IVF when his father Doug Williams was part of the surrogate program and Rebecca North, unknown to Doug, was carrying his surrogate child.

Rebecca gave birth to a son named after his biological father, Doug. Robert LeClair married her and became his legal father. After the couple divorced, she took Dougie with her to Japan with her boyfriend Johnny Collins.

Dougie later returned to Robert in 1979 following the death of Rebecca and Johnny in a plane crash. Doug learns the truth of Dougie being his biological son in a letter left behind explaining the truth. Doug chose to keep it to himself until Robert decided to move to Paris with the child. Doug finally reveals the truth and convinces Robert to stay in Salem, letting him keep Dougie and promising not to tell the child of his true parentage and letting Robert re-name him "Charles".

Eventually, however, Robert does leave for Paris with Dougie who later is mentioned to be in boarding school in Switzerland.

Eventually, Charles learned his real name, and gave his son his birth name though didn't tell him that it was his name or where he he got it from, until in 2024 when Doug passed away, and Charles told his his life's story including who he was and who his father really was, so his son changed his last name to Williams in honor of his late grandfather and came to Salem to meet his family.
