Fiona Cook - Kiriakis is a fictional character on the soap opera, Days of Our Lives, portrayed by Serena Scott Thomas since June 19, 2024.
Casting
On April 27, 2024; Serena Scott Thomas was announced to be joining Days of our Lives as an unannounced character. It was speculated that she would either be playing the long lost mother of Xander Kiriakis or the ex-wife of Konstantin Meleounis. As time went on, more hints pointed it to being Xander's mom, whose name was revealed to be Fiona, until it was officially confirmed shortly before the character's debut on June 19, 2024.
in August 2024, it was announced that Thomas had been upped to contract.
Background
Fiona was first mentioned in 2015 as Xander Kiriakis mother, but the name was revealed until 2024 as Fiona Cook. Her married last name is Kiriakis as she was married to Titus Kiriakis, the late of brother of Victor Kiriakis. After Titus died, Fiona started drinking heavily which estranged her from Xander who viewed her as a drunk.
Storylines
Fiona was mentioned in 2015 when her son Xander arrived in Salem and he met up with her he thought to have been his uncle his life Victor Kiriakis and Titus was his father he believed and Mrs.Cook who was Xander secretly had affair for years until it was revealed in 2023 when Theresa Donovan and Konstantin Meleounis the man who killed Victor figured out Xander was Victor biologically son and was a living heir to the Kiriakis estate.
While Sarah Horton was searching for Xander mother all she got was nothing but a cell phone call and it hang up on her and when she wanted Xander to came to Maggie wedding that didn’t happen and Konstantin was exposed for killing Victor and was shot by Fiona son Xander and he honored Victor memory but didn’t know Victor is his biological father and Fiona Cook was nowhere to be found when Sarah asked Xander about his mother he would avoid it and Sarah didn’t want to stop her search for his mother.
Sarah got Fiona's number from Xander, but it had been changed. Luckily, Xander was able to get in touch with his aunt Maisie and she was able to get Fiona's address. Sarah then got ready to send an invite to the wedding, but she almost didn't get it since it ended up in the trash. Luckily, Bonnie Kiriakis found it and mailed it anyway.
When Bonnie and Sarah were trying to figure out how it ended up in the trash, Theresa Donovan admitted that she threw it away cause she didn't want Fiona showing up and wrecking their double wedding. Fiona missed Theresa's marriage to Alex Kiriakis, but arrived in time to see Xander and Sarah married.
However, Fiona did end up creating drama anyways when she learned that Alex found out he was Victor's son through a letter that had been written to him. Fiona asked to see the letter and Justin Kiriakis brought her the letter. Alex said his mother Anjelica Deveraux had written the letter, but Fiona said she wrote the letter.
Fiona then confessed to Xander that when she was married to Titus, she had an affair with Victor, and wound up pregnant. She wrote the letter to Victor telling him and asking him not to say anything because they didn't want to hurt Titus. Fiona asked where they found the letter, and Justin said that it was found in a briefcase among Victor's personal effects.
Alex realized Theresa must have change the letter since she had been left alone with the briefcase and forced her to admit it. Theresa also admitted that Konstantin Meleounis had helped her change it but swore she didn't know how dangerous he was, and then ran off in shame.
Xander was furious with Fiona for not telling him the truth even after Titus died, and ordered her to get out of his sight. Fiona did reluctantly and then went to the Brady Pub for a drink where she ran into Brady Black.
