Javier "Javi" Hernandez is a character from the soap opera Days of Our Lives, portrayed by Al Calderon since October 2024.
Storylines
Javi arrives at the Hernandez household and is greeted by his cousin Gabi Hernandez. Javi's mother had just passed away and he's looking for a fresh start in Salem. He hopes he can live with his cousins. Gabi is happy to have him stay.
Javi notices the ring that his mother sent to Rafe Hernandez. Javi is a bit hurt that his mother wanted Rafe to have it, and thinks Rafe is the son his mother wished she'd had. Javi describes Rafe as a "big strapping macho straight guy" and describes himself as a "garden variety gay who worships Jennifer Coolidge."
The next day, Rafe uses the ring to propose to Jada Hunter. Meanwhile, Gabi's marriage to Stefan DiMera has just ended, and Javi tries to be supportive.
They also talk about one of Javi's relationships that ended. The guy's name was Mateus, and he was Javi's parking valet at the cheesecake factory. Javi and Mateus disagreed about everything political, and Mateus didn't even pronounce Javi's name the right way.
Eventually, Javi and Gabi go out with Rafe and Jada to celebrate the engagement. At the bar, Javi meets Leo Stark, and the two hit it off right away. After talking for a bit, Leo asks for Javi's number. Gabi tries to tell Javi that Leo is bad news, but Javi doesn't care.
Some days later, Leo and Javi run into each other outside the Brady Pub. Leo is working on some dialogue, which Javi helps him out with. As it turns out, Leo knows some Spanish. Leo asks Javi out to dinner, and Javi accepts. However, Javi has to rush off since Gabi gave him a job as her new assistant. He's got a lot of errands to do.
The next day at work, Javi mentions to Gabi that he spent time with Leo, which is the reason he's late. Gabi is not too pleased and trashes Leo some more, but Javi doesn't want to hear it. Javi says Leo is funny, interesting, hot, and romantic, and it felt like they had a real connection. However, things take a turn when Leo shows up, accusing Javi of leaking the Body & Soul plot.
