Markus “Mark” Greene is a character on the soap opera, Days of Our Lives, portrayed by Jonah Robinson.

Background

Mark is the oldest sibling in his family. After their parents died, Mark had to raise his younger siblings Aaron and Felicity Greene, the latter being born with Down Syndrome. Mark works as a doctor at Salem University Hospital, and has a connection to a mysterious woman pretending to be the late Abigail Deveraux (later revealed to be his sister Cat Greene). It was also revealed that their mother was alive and being held captive by Clyde Weston, who was threatening to kill her if the siblings didn't do what he wanted. Following his prison stint, Mark lost his medical license.

Storylines

Mark first appears when he talks to a heartbroken Leo Stark who recently broke up with Dimitri Von Leuschner and was talking to Marlena Evans about finding love again when Mark stumbled across Leo and introduced himself. He admits he's not gay to Leo before leaving. He is a doctor and at Johnny and Chanel's appointment, they see his last name is Greene and put together that he Felicity Greene and Aaron Greene older brother.

When Mark went to check on his colleague Sarah Horton who was hospitalized after being hit by a car, he saw Holly Jonas there. Mark showed some slight irritation towards her since she has ditched his brother Aaron at prom to go see Aaron's best friend Tate Black. Holly said Aaron was all in on the plan. Mark also noted that Aaron was only tagging his photos at Lacrosse camp as Tate Black.

Mark got a call and met with a mysterious woman posing as the late Abigail Deveraux. The woman was rattled being in the DiMera mansion that was full of members of the DiMera family. She asked Mark if it was easy to change the test and he said it was.

They said they make a pretty good team, and Mark reassured her that she would only be found out if they requested another DNA test. Mark told her they needed to discuss steps for their next plan, but just then Chad DiMera showed up, and the woman said that she had to ask this nice man for directions. Mark soon made himself scarce and went back to work.

Upon returning to work, Mark encountered both Holly and Tate; the latter who had injured himself. They asked Mark not to say anything and Mark said that due to patient confidentiality he couldn't say anything about Tate's injury or where and how he acquired it so he assured them that their secret was safe with him. However when Aaron returned from camp, Mark made sure his little brother knew that what he did was wrong.

Overtime more of Mark's motivations were revealed. He and the woman (revealed to be his sister) were conning Chad on Clyde Weston's orders who was holding their mother Catherina Meleounis Greene captive and threatening to kill. The plan was for the sister to marry Chad so she could drain his bank accounts. Mark was visiting Clyde pretending to be his lawyer Jackie Childs.

During one of Mark and his sister's get together, Felicity and Aaron saw them together. Mark and his sister had to pretend she was Abigail, but Felicity felt something familiar about it her. After they left, their sister was glad they didn't recognize her, and it was revealed she had plastic surgery.

Clyde had one more order for Mark: He wanted him to kill Chad. Mark reluctantly purchased tickets to go to Paris where Chad and "Abigail" were. Before he left, Steve Johnson tricked Mark into running a second DNA test that proved he rigged it. Mark was worried about what would happen if he got caught and failed. He was annoyed that Clyde's advice was not to get caught, and also made it clear he didn't trust Clyde would promise to release their mother.

Mark met with Felicity and said he had to settle something with their parents estate and he won't be gone long. Felicity said that Abigail's mannerism's reminded her of their mother's and that she misses her. Mark hugs Felicity and says he loves her and there is nothing he wouldn't do for this family.

Mark arrived in Paris and called Clyde, asking him how he is supposed to kill Chad. Clyde directed Mark to a table that had a package with a gun in it. Holly ran into Mark since she was in Paris visiting her mother. Mark learned from Holly that Chad and "Abigail" were married and raced to the apartment.

Chad and "Abigail" were both surprised to see Mark, and Mark apologized saying he had no choice as he forced Chad back into the apartment at gun point. "Abigail" refused to let Mark shoot Chad and stood in the way, telling her brother he would have to shoot her first. Before Mark could make a difficult choice, he was knocked unconscious by Steve, who exposed the truth about "Abigail".

Mark was then tied to chair and when he woke up, Steve told him they know the truth about him and his sister. Mark and Cat were arrested and jailed upon returning to Salem. They worried about how the news would affect Aaron and Felicity, and Cat especially worried how they would feel when they learned everything she had done. Mark reassured Cat they would still love her since she was their sister, and said they have to get out of this cause since they don't know about their mother, they are all Aaron and Felicity have got.

Cat was briefly brought up to the interrogation room and when she returned, she filled Mark in on Abigail's body being gone and how she was disappointed that Chad didn't want to see her admitting the idea was foolish considering what she put him through and Mark realized Cat had developed real feelings for Chad. Aaron burst in, and demanded to know if everything he heard was true. Mark confirmed it was and Aaron was furious that Mark lied to him and Felicity, and wondered what he would tell her.

Against Cat's subtle objections, Mark confessed to Aaron that their mother was alive and being held captive by Clyde. Aaron became riled up and wanted to go find Clyde and force him to tell them where their mother. Mark tried to talk him down, but Aaron wouldn't listen, so Cat intervened and confessed that she was his sister. Mark smiled as his two siblings shared a touching reunion, but Mark and Cat were forced to tell Aaron that they don't know if their mother was still alive since they failed to do what Clyde wanted them to do, and Aaron rushed off overwhelmed.

Cat had the charges dropped against her by Chad on Clyde's orders, but he refused to do the same for Mark. Chad's brother district attorney EJ DiMera offered Mark a deal that would get him only ten years compared to the twenty-five he would serve. Mark was hesitant to sign the deal and noted that EJ seemed to be taken this personally. EJ assured him he was since he tried to kill a DiMera and Mark was getting off easy compared to others who have tried to harm his family.

Mark said his little siblings depend on him as their legal guardian and asked what would happen to them. EJ didn't care and told Mark he should have thought of that before he tried to kill Chad. Mark was about to begrudgingly sign the deal when Belle Black came into the interrogation room and told Mark not to sign that saying she was his attorney even though Mark had no idea who she was. Belle said that she was Tate's aunt and had been asked to look at his case ok Aaron's behalf.

Belle reminded EJ that the alleged crime that EJ was charging Mark happened in Paris. Determined not to be bested EJ would give Mark his reduced sentence and then have him extradited to Paris to be serve out the full sentence. However, Belle refused to budge and suggested time served, a probation, and a fine. EJ was frustrated but ultimately agreed to the terms and Mark was released on bonds just in time to rejoin his siblings in a group hug.

Aaron and Cat were thrilled to see Mark and hoped the charged were dropped, but Mark said he would have to serve eighteen months which upset Aaron. Mark assured his brother it could have been much worse, and wanted to enjoy the time he had with them before he had to turn himself in, so he wanted to know all about their mom. Cat, Aaron, and Felicity took a road trip to Canada to see their mother but Mark had to stay behind since he was expected to serve his eighteen months in prison.

After being released from prison, Mark and Cat walk in the Horton Square. They ran into Chad but Mark wasn't able to apologize before Chad walked off.

He goes to EJ's office at the hospital and EJ offered him a "private research" job at the Tom Horton Free Clinic.

EJ introduced him to Wilhelm Rolf at the clinic and said they'd be spending a lot of time together.
