The Meleounis family are a Greek Orthodox family from the soap opera Days of Our Lives. The family debuted in 2023. Originating from the small town of Aria, Greece, the Meleounis family is known for its history and ties to prominent Salem residents Victor Kiriakis and John Black. Many Meleounis family members now reside in Salem, Illinois.

History

The Meleounis family’s origins trace back to Greece, where Konstantin Meleounis, the patriarch, ran a renowned restaurant in Victor Kiriakis' hometown. Konstantin was once close friends with Victor, but their relationship soured due to a rivalry over territory in Greece. According to Konstantin, Victor's business empire, Titan, was initially funded by a loan from Konstantin's father. The rivalry between the two families eventually grew into a bitter feud. Konstantin’s personal life was equally tumultuous. He was in an abusive marriage with Elizabeth Meleounis, who, fearing for her safety and her daughter Catherina's future, sought help from Victor to escape. Victor, with the help of John Black, then known as The Pawn, staged Catherina's death during a confrontation at Konstantin’s villa in Aria. The convincing ruse allowed Elizabeth to flee to the United States with her daughter, leaving Konstantin devastated and unaware of the truth. In America, Elizabeth raised her daughter, Catherina Meleounis, in safety. Catherina later married Mr. Greene and had four children: Mark Greene, Cat Greene, Aaron Greene, and Felicity Greene.
