The Salem Spectator is a newspaper company on the soap opera Days of Our Lives.
History
The Salem Spectator is a newspaper in Salem, Illinois founded by the Colville Family in the '80s. Upon her father's death, Diana Colville inherited the company. She eventually sold half the newspaper to Jack Deveraux to kill a story about him. Eventually, Jack blackmailed Diana for the rest. Jennifer Horton began interning at the newspaper when Jack and Diana were co-owners. Vern Scofield became Jack's right hand man around this time. In 2017, Anjelica Deveraux attempted to buy the Spectator from Jennifer and Adrienne Johnson, but Justin Kiriakis helped them acquire the funds to stop her. In 2018, Will Horton became a journalist and investigated the drug that was used to revive him. In 2023, Xander Kiriakis and Gwen Rizczech blackmailed the spectator away from Jack and Jennifer. Later, Gwen sold her half to Chad DiMera. Everett Lynch got a job working as the editor in chief at the spectator, but was fired by Xander due to Chad over his relationship to Stephanie Johnson. In 2024, Xander sold his half back to Jack.
