Background
Sophia was born to Amy Choi and her husband. She appears to be the only girl and the oldest as she mentioned having younger bothers, but no sisters or older siblings. She is the best friend of Holly Jonas since pre-school, and she also goes to the same school as Tate Black (who she has a crush on), and Aaron Greene (who has a unrequited crush on her).
Storyline
Sophia appears walking beside Holly at the Horton square where they run into Holly’s mother Nicole Walker and they tell her they are going to the Brady Pub where they encounter Tate who works as a waitress now and Holly and Sophia go to talking about Tate who was serving them. Sophia asks Holly is she still had feelings for Tate, which Holly denied to having.
Sophia coerces Tate to take her to prom after he hits her with a football in the eye, The pair are all set to go to prom together but Sophia overhears Tate tell Aaron Greene that he Holly are together and he has a plan to meet up with Holly after prom. Sophia pretends not to hear and proceeds to walk over to the pair and ask about prom details. Sophia goes and takes pictures with Tate and his family at his house. After Tate makes up a lie about having a headache Sophia tells Tate's parents about his relationship with Holly.
After finding out that Tate and Holly were lying about breaking up and Tate spending the summer at lacrosse camp, Sophia blackmails Holly to take her shifts at The Bistro. But when she gets her check to make store she gives Sophia all of the money including tips. Sophia sneaks up to the Horton cabin and tries to seduce Tate that does not go well and is interrupted by Holly barging in. Sophia starts to plant sends of doubt in Hollys head about why her and Tate haven't had sex yet.
Sophia begins to see the cracks in Tate and Hollys relationship with the aftermath of the hit and run playing a huge part in there divide. Sophia begins to comfort Tate and show him compassion and understanding about the situation with his dad. On a break from working at The Bistro, Sophia brings Tate lunch and spends alone time with him at his house. The pair bond and Sophia tells Tate that she would never take him for granted. Sophia says that he is such a good person and not only is he good looking but smart, sensitive, fun and a total catch. When Holly shows up at his house Sophia tells her that she was just telling Tate that she hopes that he and Holly work out there issues. Sophia then leaves and bids the couple farewell as she goes back to work at The Bistro.
