Stuart Whyland is a character from the soap opera Days of Our Lives, portrayed by Robert Alda from 1981-82.

Storylines

Stuart Whyland came to Salem in 1981 as the new administration of Salem University Hospital. He quickly purchased Chris Kositchek's therapy machine, and offered Marlena Evans her own radio show. He dated Marlena and also developed feelings for Maggie Horton. When David Banning returned to Salem, Stuart hired him to work with Marlena, and also gave Dr. Neil Curtis her own radio show. Stuart confided in Marlena that his son Evan Whyland lost his wife, and Marlena talked him into bringing Evan to Salem and hiring him as a doctor.

Stuart worried about Evan, but would also hide the fact that he is the father of Maggie's daughter Sarah Horton. He and Neil Curtis would often be forced to work together to hide Stuart's dirty dealings. Stuart dated Lee DuMonde, who became suspicious of Stuart when she learned he dated a woman in Paris, who had disappeared. Lee started investigating Stuart, who eventually caught on to what she was doing.

Tony DiMera hired Stuart as a liaison to acquire Anderson Manufacturing. Stuart tried to blackmail Alex Marshall into saying he was shot by David. Alex refused, and Stuart became afraid for his life and left town. Stuart was confronted by Tony in Paris about the Salem Murders. Stuart became desperate and tried to pressure Alex into selling Anderson Manufacturing. Annoyed with Stuart's failings, Tony and his father Stefano DiMera turned Stuart to over the police as the head of the drug cartel and threatened Evan's life if he didn't comply. Stuart later died of a heart attack in prison.
