Timothy "Tim" Robicheaux is a character from the soap opera Days of Our Lives, portrayed by Dick Van Dyke in 2023. He is the biological father of John Black and the widow of the late Maude Robicheaux.
History
Tim and his wife Maude Robicheaux had a son, but Tim ended up going off to fight in the Korean War before he could even meet him. Tim and another soldier Joseph Bell took cover in a foxhole where they were struck with a blast. Tim was severely injured, and Joseph slid up beside him. Tim asked Joseph for help, but all Joseph said was that it was everyman for himself. Joseph took off Tim's dog tags and gave him his. Tim told Joseph he will die without his help, but Joseph said if he does, they will believe that he died. He then took off leaving Tim for dead.
When Tim was presumed dead, Maude gave their son up for adoption while Joseph fled to China went on take the alias of Yo Ling. In 2016, John believed he had met his father Tim, but Joseph used the identity to trick John, hoping to recruit him to his side. John refused and Joseph was captured, committing suicide by biting down on a poison capsule. John believed his father to be dead not knowing that his real father was out there looking for him. At some point, Tim ended up suffering from amnesia though he still remembered he had a son that he was searching for.
Storylines
Timothy was brought to Salem University Hospital by a police officer, and due to his amnesia he was called "John Doe". He claimed to be a man on a mission to find his long lost son. "John Doe" met Doug Williams and Julie Williams and he and Julie shared a dance while Doug sang. Julie mentioned her uncle Tommy Horton, who had died in the Korean War, and "John Doe" recognized the name though he couldn't quite remember why.
In September 8, 2023, "John Doe" meets John Black, who hands him his dog tags that say the name Joseph Bell. The dog tags trigger his memory and he remembered how Joseph stole his dog tags and left him to die in the foxhole. John quickly realized that revelation meant that John "Doe" was the real Tim Robicheaux, his father, and Yo Ling's real name was Joseph Bell.
John revealed to Tim that he was his son, and after a life long search, father and son were finally reunited as John and Tim embraced. Tim remembered his wife Maude, and John informed his father that Maude had passed way a few years ago. Tim was saddened but admitted he suspected that. However, Tim was happy to finally meet his son.
