Jing-Wen "Wendy" Shin is a character from the second chapter of Beyond Salem that aired on July 11, 2022, portrayed Victoria Grace. She joined the official show on October 11, 2022 on a contract basis.
Early History[]
As the only daughter and youngest child of Wei Shin, Wendy felt like she had a lot to prove to her father, who was more into traditionalism. Growing up, Wendy's best friend was named Samir and her first love was a boy named Cameron that she met in computer class. Cameron eventually broke her heart when she found someone else.
Storylines[]
Wendy is the daughter Wei Shin and younger sister of Li Shin, who works in IT for DiMera Enterprises pharmaceutical division in Alaska. Wendy was searching for Harris Michaels and broke into the apartment shared by Tripp Johnson, Joey Johnson, and Stephanie Johnson. She was apprehended and questioned by the two brothers, who recognized Harris as the man, who delivered their pizza.
Knowing Harris was after the prism that has been acquired by DiMera Enterprises, Wendy went to see Li in the hopes of scoring not just tickets for herself, but tickets for Joey and Tripp. Li was skeptical, but his girlfriend and business partner Gabi Hernandez gave the tickets to her.
Wendy, Tripp, and Joey all went together, and the brothers were clearly smitten by her. Things got out of hand when Tripp and Joey's father Steve Johnson and John Black showed up looking for the prisms after being brainwashed. John escaped, and Steve ended up taking Wendy hostage. Tripp and Joey subdued their father, and Wendy kept the gun trained on Steve until he was cured of his brainwashing.
Later, Tripp, and Joey each tried to ask Wendy out, but she said she didn't want to come between brothers. Li decided to give Wendy a promotion, and Tripp and Joey both continued to text Wendy. As it turns out, Wendy didn't get much of a promotion as she was only promoted to the head of the IT Department
Wendy showed up in Salem, furious with Li, and demanded more of a promotion. Wendy noticed her brother was rattled, and attempted to hack his computer, but was unable to. Knowing that Li was closely affiliated with the recently revived Stefan DiMera, Wendy went to the mansion to talk to Stefan, but instead ran into Stefan's nephew Johnny DiMera.
